POSTURAL ASSESSMENT
(Observation and Evaluation Skills for Therapists)
There are several ways in which we can assess and evaluate our clients but out of these postural assessment is an easy to incorporate tool for any therapist.
Through active participation in a series of practical exercises you will be introduced to an analysis of body mechanics. Alignment is viewed from different planes and takes into account how the body as a whole is positioned, how adjacent body parts relate to each other, and how alignment of individual parts relates to the whole. Awareness of discrepancies in the alignment of body segments is used to draw attention to the importance of interrelationships among body parts.
