TCM and The 5 Elements, a course for existing Canine Practitioners, so that Acupressure Massage can be incorporated into your practice. Introduction to The 5 Elements, Yin Yang Theory, Qi and Meridian Channels
In the morning you will learn the principles of the 5 Elements, looking at how all in nature is a process, with the ability to change and adapt ourselves, we are then able to observe that in our dogs. You will learn the concept of Yin and Yang theory and patterns of Excess and Deficient. We will look at Qi and the flow of energy. We will trace all the 12 Meridian Channels and look at the 24 hour Chinese Clock.
5 Element Theory and Acupoints
Practitioners will continue to explore the 5 Elements and how we can relate the principles to our dogs. You will learn conditions and patterns that correspond to each element. In this session we will spend time locating Acupoints. We will learn the Association Points, and Yuan Source Points.
Acupressure Points and Massage Techniques
In this session, Practitioners will bring together their practice of point location from the previous session and add in Master Points and Influential Points. Students will learn, Massage Movements to link and connect the Acupressure Points. Participants will consider their own dogs and practice on model dogs to be able to perform a Canine AcuPoint Massage. Demonstrate and present live case Study.
Presenting Conditions
This session, will offer a closer look at some 'presenting conditions' and patterns of disharmony that are regularly presented. We will refresh and review basic Canine Anatomy and Physiology as well as some common pathology.
Practitioners will consider some case studies so that they feel able to assess dogs according to the
5 Elements. As a group we will consider how to incorporate Canine AcuPoint Massage into your existing practice.
Energy Balancing
Practitioners will spend this session learning about energetics and the basic principles of Quantum Mechanics and the Body Field. We will consider that dogs have a 6th sense and we can learn to be present to their health and well-being when we understand the energetic flow of Qi. Participants will practice a few energy balancing exercises. We will discuss how love and empathy toward animals plays a huge role in their wellness.
NB; (Following this training, you will be able to incorporate these techniques into your existing practice, however, you will not be able to call yourself an 'Acupressure Massage Practitioner').
