Massage for the Elderly
Brief Description:
Have you ever worked with elderly, frail, or chronically ill clients and wondered if the treatment was appropriate for them? This 14 point CPD course, home study Massage for the Elderly course will outline and explain appropriate treatment strategies for working with clients who are elderly, frail, chronically ill, or injured.
With the advancement in science and medicine, we have a growing elderly population and we need to look for effective methods of care to complement the healthcare that traditional medicine can offer.
As a society, our spending on healthcare for the elderly requires a huge budget, so anything that can help reduce the negative effects on our ageing health, is a great benefit to society. Not only is this just in a financial sense, but also we all gain and benefit from having a happier and healthier older generation. Staying mobile is an important part of keeping well and helps prevent both physical and mental well-being.
It discusses the benefits, contraindications, the ageing process, appropriate techniques, and positioning of clients.
